The Heart of Jesus is THE source of love
Let's draw on it in this proposal for the Consecration of the parish, families and parishioners of ND du Chêne .... And let's be a source of consolation for our world, which needs it so much. How do we do it? Make the most of a jubilee year... to let yourself be loved and loved!
To mark the 350th anniversary of the apparitions of Jesus to St Margaret Mary Alacoque at Paray-le-Monial, the Pope is preparing to publish an apostolic exhortation on the Sacred Heart.
The parish offers a year to prepare for a heart-to-heart with Jesus. By consecrating yourself to the Heart of Jesus, personally, as a family and in the parish.
To dedicate oneself means to give oneself fully to something or someone. Consecration to the Sacred Heart of JesusTo consecrate oneself is to decide to place one's life in the hands of Jesus, Son of God, our creator and our saviour, to put our trust in him and to commit ourselves to following in his footsteps. This consecration is linked to Jesus' message to Saint Margaret Mary. Jesus' message to Margaret Mary can be summed up in one call: to "return love for love".
Personal and family consecrations, enthronement of the Sacred Heart in homes
For what and how?
So that everyone can fully experience the preparations for the consecration of the parish on 27 June 2025, the parish is supporting a number of initiatives, as chosen by the individual:
- Consecration of my person to the Heart of Jesus
- Consecration of my family to the Heart of Jesus
- Enthronement of the Sacred Heart in my home
What are the conditions for each of these approaches? None... apart from the
the desire to be filled with God's love through the burning Heart of Jesus, and to respond as best we can with the help of his grace.
1/ Consecration of myself to the Heart of Jesus
- What for?
o To renew the graces of my baptism.
- How do we do it?
o By saying a prayer of consecration (for example, the prayer below,
usually prayed at the shrine of Paray-le-Monial).
o The first time, it could be expressed in a church, for example, in
in the presence of a priest (see attached dates proposed by the parish).
Example of a prayer of personal consecration to the Heart of Jesus
Lord Jesus, you who came to light a fire on earth, I surrender myself today to the will of the Father in the breath of the Holy Spirit. Purify my heart, set it ablaze with love and charity. Make my desire for holiness grow within me. Through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I, ..., consecrate myself entirely to your Heart to love and serve you.

2/ Consecration of my family to the Heart of Jesus
- What for?
o To place my family entirely in the Heart of Jesus and receive all the graces that flow from this, graces of peace, joy and hope.
- How do we do it?
o By saying a prayer of consecration (for example, the prayer below).
o The first time, for example, it could be expressed in a church, in the presence of a priest (see the annex for the dates proposed by the parish).
Example of a family prayer of consecration to the Heart of Jesus
Heart of Jesus, you who consecrated yourself to the Father out of love for us, we want, in the breath of your Holy Spirit, to consecrate to you out of love the life of our family, our past, our present and our future, our home, our work and our simplest actions. We consecrate to you our trials and our joys, so that the love with which you have loved us may keep us in you and remain in us for ever, so that the fire of your love may set the whole world ablaze and the rivers of living water from your Heart may flow for all to eternal life.

3/ Enthronement of the Sacred Heart in my home
- What for?
o Make the Heart of Jesus the centre and heart of my home.
- How do we do it?
o By choosing a representation of the Heart of Jesus (image, statue, ex-voto, etc.) and where it will "sit" in a prominent place in my home.
o By making an appointment with one of the priests who will come to my home to lead the celebration.
Appendix 1: Consecration of the parish of Notre-Dame du Chêne to the Heart of Jesus.
