The 350th anniversary jubilee
From 27 December 2023 to 27 June 2025, the Jubilee of the 350th anniversary of the apparitions of the Heart of Jesus to Saint Margaret Mary at Paray-le-Monial will take place. This is an exceptional event, with the opening of the Jubilee Door on 27 December 2023 by the Apostolic Nuncio to France, Archbishop Migliore. On that day, the shrine officially joined the Pope's worldwide prayer network. More on this later.
The theme is Returning love for love, meaning welcoming Jesus’ personal love for each of us, making amends for the lack of love He suffers from, and entering into the compassion of His Heart for those who so greatly need comfort.
The sanctuary is participating in a vast movement of consecration or renewal of consecration to the Sacred Heart, with a dynamic that begins on feast of the Sacred Heart in 2024 and concludes a year later, on the feast of the Sacred Heart in 2025. I addressed a petition to the Pope during the audience granted to the participants of the colloquium organised by the sanctuary in Rome in May on the theme of Spiritual Reparation. I asked him to consecrate the Church and the world on 27 June 2025, the anniversary of the great apparition of the Sacred Heart to Marguerite-Marie and the conclusion of the Jubilee.
Whatever the Pope's response, this step from the Holy Father only makes sense if it is joined by a mobilisation of the whole Church. May the hearts of each one, families, parishes, dioceses, congregations and pastors be animated by the desire to dedicate themselves.
Presentation of the preparation course for consecration
This is the purpose of this present journey: to offer preparation by explaining what devotion to the Sacred Heart is, what consecration is, how to consecrate oneself and how to implement it concretely in our personal, family and ecclesial life for the sake of mission.
Isn't the main thing that the world knows the love of the Heart of Jesus?
Four parts will mark out this route:
- In the first part, we will look at the message of the Apparitions of the Sacred Heart at Paray. These will be stages 3 and 4.
- Secondly, we will discuss what Consecration is, in Steps 5 and 6.
- A third part will explain how to devote yourself, with steps 7, 8 and 9.
- the fourth and final part will give some indications on concrete ways of living consecration to the Heart of Jesus, at steps 10 and 11.
- finally, the conclusion - Step 12 – showing how consecration is in view of the mission.
