The Kingship of Christ. It's right on today's topic. It's an evening to rediscover Christ the King as a source of freedom, truth and commitment.
Faith cannot be private. Faith is something that is open towards others, as John Paul II said. It is not an enclosure.
In our private lives, it must be put at the service of others. And therefore, it cannot be kept within the heart. Besides, it is not compatible.
So, this evening with exceptional speakers to boost our faith and reignite the flame of the kingdom in our hearts.
The feast of Christ the King, established by Pope Pius X, resonates with us as a call
In partnership with France Catholique, SETH Talk is organising its second edition in Paris on 12 November, on the theme of Christ the King, 100 years after the encyclical Quas Primas.
A hundred years ago, Pope Pius XI instituted the feast of Christ the King, in his encyclical On First Things (11 December 1925), to indicate the path to lasting peace after the horrors of the 1914-18 war. In his first words from the loggia of St Peter's Basilica, on 8 May last, the current Pope Leo XIV also displayed his desire for peace: «I would also like this greeting of peace to enter your hearts, to reach your families, all people, wherever they may be, all peoples, the whole Earth. (…) It is the peace of the Risen Christ, a peace without weapons and disarming, humble and persevering. It comes from God.»
